While I’m not dead yet, it feels like I’m not too far off.  The baby will be here soon, as in hours to days, so not much is going on besides getting ready for said baby. But I did manage to get a little time in the lab to come up with this.  I have a friend that wants WHIA in his home but has a finished basement, so I’m thinking of doing this sort of design but with microservos, jeenodes and some LiPo batteries.  As always more to come.

Yeah, the vents don’t seem to be designed with frequent use in mind. I’m picking up some micro servos tonight and I’m going to run a sweep on them until the vent breaks just to see how long it will go. I’m hoping I can extend the life dramatically with the work that I’m going to do to keep the vent quiet during it’s movement. Basically coating the pivot ends in plastic so it’s plastic on metal instead of metal on metal, but to be honest even if they only last a year or so, it’s going into my neighbours house and we can replace them pretty quickly.
